CTV and Discovery Communications Inc. Extend Discovery Canada Joint Venture
– New agreement will further strengthen the portfolio offering Discovery-branded channels in Canada –
Toronto, ON (April 6, 2010) – CTV and Discovery Communications Inc. (DCI) announced today an extension of their Discovery Canada joint venture, including the English-language broadcast rights in Canada for programming from Discovery Channel, Discovery Science, Discovery Health, Discovery HD Theatre and Investigation Discovery.
Under the new multi-year agreement, Discovery Canada will utilize Discovery-branded content on additional platforms such as the internet, video on demand and mobile. In addition, CTV will have the English-language rights to launch new Discovery branded channels in Canada (excluding TLC and Military Channel, and the OWN and Hub joint ventures).
