Toronto, ON (August 3, 2006) – In a competitive field featuring three U.S. talent series, Rock Star Supernova is last on the list. That’s the reality following new-look data that levels the playing field for the trio of simulcast programs. Meanwhile performing at an octave above all of them is the locally–produced, home-grown champ Canadian Idol- landing #1 in total viewers, A18-49 and A25-54.

When measuring Performance episodes against Performance episodes, America’s Got Talent (CTV/NBC) brings in 13% more viewers than So You Think You Can Dance (CTV/FOX) and 47% more viewers than Rock Star (Global/CBS). America’s Got Talent not only generates more total audience, but delivers more A18-34 (30%), more A18-49 (13%) and more A25-54 (9%) viewers than Rock Star. When measuring Results episodes, So You Think You Can Dance takes the U.S. simulcast crown and brings 44% more A18-49 viewers than fading Rock Star.

Meanwhile, in its fourth season, Canadian Idol – locally produced and broadcast across only one network - outperforms everyone. Outperforms in total viewers. Outperforms in A18-49. And outperforms in A25-54. Canadian Idol is Canada’s #1 program in total viewers and those two demos nationally and again in Canada’s largest, most-competitive market, Toronto-Hamilton.
