Toronto, ON (September 8, 2009) – MuchMusic gives viewers five reasons to stay in on a Friday night with a new block of programming labeled WTF (that’s “Watch this Friday”). Catch MuchOriginal productions LOVE COURT and MY DATE WITH…, as well as the brand new blood sucking THE VAMPIRE DIARIES; and the always changing, always fun MuchMovie. Going live without interruption and commercial free, the Canadian exclusive of JAY-Z LIVE FROM MADISON SQUARE GARDEN is added to the lineup this Friday at 9 p.m. ET. Fridays at 6 p.m. ET – New MuchOriginal Series
Hosted by MMVAs and Juno nominated singer Elise Estrada, MuchOriginal series LOVE COURT is a Much-ified version of the dating game. In each episode, a hot young couple goes on a blind date where each are given a challenge they must complete, whether it’s getting that first kiss, or getting the girl to pick up the tab. But there’s a twist: the challenge must be kept a secret from their date. One dater is sentenced to life in the prison of shame by comedian judges Dini Dimakos, Eddie Della Siepe, Andrew Johnston, and Darrin Rose, while the other walks away with a cash prize.

MY DATE WITH…
Fridays at 6:30 p.m. ET – New MuchOriginal Series
On MuchOriginal series MY DATE WITH… one lucky fan is whisked away for a dream date with their favourite artist! Just when it couldn’t get better, the viewer and their friend receive a surprise with a full day of rock star treatment and plenty of pampering, in preparation for the big day. Episodes feature dates with Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry, Fall Out Boy, All-American Rejects, and many more.

GOSSIP GIRL
Fridays at 7 p.m. ET – New Season (beginning Sept. 18)
The bitch is back in a brand new sultry third season of GOSSIP GIRL. As the posse goes off to college, Georgina returns to cause ruckus with Dan, Blair, Chuck, Nate, and Serena. Guest stars a plenty for the new season include Tyra Banks, Hilary Duff, Joanna Garica, and the always delicious Michelle Trachtenberg as Georgina Sparks.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
Fridays at 8 p.m. ET – New Series
The newest series to make a splash in the underworld is THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, starring Canadian and DEGRASSI: TNG alum Nina Dobrev. Dobrev stars as Elena, a teenager who becomes the obsession of two vampire siblings, one good, one evil. As the brothers fight for Elena’s soul and the souls of her loved ones, Elena’s angst becomes unbearable tearing her between what she loves and what could destroy her.

JAY-Z LIVE FROM MADISON SQUARE GARDEN
Friday, Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. – Live To Air & Commercial Free
For those fans who can’t make it to Madison Square Garden, tune in to MuchMusic for the only place to see JAY-Z LIVE FROM MADISON SQUARE GARDEN completely uninterrupted. H.O.V.A. throws it down in front of thousands, all for a good cause. The king of everything hip hop performs live just as his latest album, The Blueprint 3 is released. All proceeds from the concert go directly to the New York Police & Fire Widows and the Children’s Benefit Fund.
