SPACE Original Series TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL Kicks Serious A** as Premiere Captures 181,000 Viewers

– TODD series premiere is highest-rated ever for SPACE original series –
– Highest-rated program on Non-Sports Specialty for A18-49 –

Toronto, ON (Friday, Oct. 1, 2010) – SPACE fans signed up for a helluva good time as its new original Canadian series TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL debuted Wednesday night to 181,000 viewers, making it the highest-rated premiere for a SPACE original series ever. Genre fans were clearly spellbound by this devilishly funny series as Episode 2 retained nearly 90 per cent of its audience. Both episodes combined reached nearly half a million total viewers from 9-10 p.m. ET/PT. The series premiere was the most-watched program at 9 p.m. on non-sports specialty television for A18-49 with 120,000 viewers in the demo.

For those who missed the premiere on Wednesday, SPACE is re-airing them this Sunday Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. ET, leading into the highly anticipated premiere of DEAD SETat 10 p.m. ET. For repeat viewings fans can access full episodes 24/7 on spacecast.com. And for a limited time only Episodes 1 and 2 and the INNERSPACE behind-the-scenes special are available for free, on the go at iTunes.

A 13-episode, half-hour original SPACE spawn, TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL is a tip of the hat to 80s teen and horror flicks that is best described as Breakfast Club meets Evil Dead. The series follows a book of awesome power that makes teenagers’ deepest, darkest desires come true, but at a horrifying cost.

In next week’s episode “Rock N’ Roll Zombies Know Best” (Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT), Marcy, the hot Goth girl at Crowley High, finds the Book of Evil and wishes her lame parents were as cool as her favourite dead rock stars. But The Book is evil so the rock stars come back as zombies, eat her parents, and force her to trap foolish horny boys as food in order to soothe their insatiable hunger for brains. Needless to say, Todd and Curtis almost get eaten.
